Cupcake Picture Holder Questions

Helping my best friend plan her wedding…any advice?
Everything has been coming along smooth, but I am getting ready to start making the invitations and such to send out. We decided to try to cut some cost by printing things on our own, so the place cards I am having a little trouble with. The theme is “simply sweet” there’s going to be a cupcake cake, candy table…etc… so I wanted to find a cute place card holder, or could someone tell me how to get a picture of our liking onto the place card once we have found some card stock that we like? Is it as easy as inserting maybe a small picture of a cupcake or something like that? Idk… any thoughts, ideas as to what we can do for the place cards and kind of keep it in the theme… the colors are baby pink, chocolate and cream. Thanks for your help!
Sounds like a cute theme….
You could get candy striped card with no picture, just really bright stripes, like what you would see in a candy store.
Or
You could get a baby pink shimmery card, print the names in choc brown and do a google image search for something sweet like a cupcake. You could then just copy and paste the picture into your template (put it where ever you like by text wrapping). Your template could be easily done in MS word.
Hope this helps.
How to Save Money on your Wedding Favors
With wedding budgets already burgeoning in these difficult economic times, you may be tempted to forgo your wedding favors and allocate the money elsewhere. However, wedding favors are a traditional part of any wedding and not having them is considered bad etiquette, even if your guests will not say so!
Even if you are on a tight budget it is still possible to create beautiful wedding favors without breaking the bank and here are just a few of the ways to do it:
- Make your own: it is very cheap to print recipes from your computer, create scented sachets from scraps of fabric or make your own cookie favors. In most cases you can achieve great favors for less than $1 each.
- Choose candy: candy is by far the cheapest option and always go down well with wedding guests. Choose candies which coordinate with your wedding colors, come in shapes to match your wedding theme or go retro with candies from your childhood.
- Double up: consider doubling up with other elements of your wedding for instance, using your wedding favors as centrepieces by piling them up in the middle of the table for guests to help themselves or handing out cupcakes to double up as favors and wedding cake.
- A dollar has it: visit the local dollar store for favor inspiration for $1. You will find things like mini photograph frames, votive candles, pretty tea light holders, coasters and mini vases.
- Don’t buy enough: it is a cheeky tactic but how many wedding shave your been to where many of the guests leave their favors behind at the end of the day? If your budget is very tight then purchase as many as you can afford and pile them up on a table at the entrance to the reception after the wedding breakfast so guests who want one can help themselves.
- Photo shoot: hire in a photo booth so your guests can have fun taking pictures of themselves. Give everyone a free token so they can get one free shot after which they will need to pay for additional photographs. These machines have proved such a hit at weddings that they usually pay for themselves and your guests get a wonderful reminder of your day.
- One between two: consider giving one favour between couples and one each to all your single guests. This should allow you to splash out on more expensive favors such as photograph frames or bottle stoppers which would be more appropriate if you do this.
