Heart shaped cookies for cupcakes?

hi um i dont know where online (or around san jose california) that i can find heart shaped cookies that can fit on top of cupcakes.

I want to bake cookies for a school function

how i would like to decorate is to place the heart cookie on top of the cupcake and sprinkle powdered sugar on top so that when i lift up the heart cookie i get an outline of a heart on the cupcake.

http://www.bhg.com/recipe/cupcakes/red-velvet-cupcakes/

the above is a link to the velvet cupcakes i want to make and the hearts on them.

um thanks!

oh and i know about sprinkles their cupcakes are too pricey for a school function! : (

If all you want is the heart on the cupcake, not to serve them with a cookie on top, then buy some parchment paper and just draw a heart on it, cut it out and lay it on top of the cupcake while you sprinkle the powdered sugar on. Remove the parchment and you’ll have a heart on your cupcake.

If you want the cupcakes to have a heart cookie on each one, then go to a craft store and buy a set of small heart cutters, either in the cake aisle or the clay aisle. Then buy some sugar cookie dough, if you don’t want to make your own, roll it out, use your little heart cutters to cut hearts, and bake them. The ones in that link were chocolate…you could add some melted chocolate to your sugar cookie dough if you wanted to. Personally I wouldn’t, red velvet is kind of a diluted chocolate flavor and paired with a strong chocolate flavored cookie, the red velvet would taste bland.
